ABOUT

The study of demographic issues in Africa through the capture of Demographic Dividend is among other missions of the Regional Excellence Center in Generational Economy (CREG). Thanks to an advanced methodology combined with an innovative approach, the CREG, since its creation in 2017, has been mandated by the NTA Executive Council in close collaboration with UNFPA Regional Office, to support all countries in West and Central Africa Region. In June 2018, at the NTA 12 Conference held in Mexico City, CREG received the mandate to host the NTA Africa Network Secretariat. That is the main reason why, the CREG, in the perspective to launch its activities in Africa, organizes jointly with the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), Universities and other technical and financial partners, the first Edition of NTA-Africa Conference from 28-30 October 2019, at Royal Horizon Baobab Hotel - Somone (Senegal). Such a Conference for which, sessions primarily will deal with Generational Economy issues, NTA Methodology and its main applications and extensions, the measuring of Care Work, Demographic Dividend and other issues, aims at promoting the NTA use in African Continent as well as by the Community of Researchers and Policymakers. The Conference will also constitute an opportunity to exchange and share knowledge on population dynamics and development issues.
